We have so many places to visit in close proximity.  

You can walk or cycle along the prom to Heysham village. Nice little spot with a rich history and pleasant eating places.  

In August a Fair is held on the village green space.

 Leighton Moss nature reserve has a wealth of bird life to see as the Bay attracts numerous birds on their annual migration as well as our year round resident species. To get the latest on whats happening at Leighton Moss use the link below.  Many of the birds that visit Leighton also spread out along our shores around the Bay to feed.

Glasson Dock is a small working port with a sea lock.  http://www.glassondock.co.uk/

 Carnforth Train Station is Famous for the “Brief Encounter” film Starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.  There is a super coffee shop and visitor centre and this interesting place hosts events such as 1940′s events and antique fairs.   http://www.carnforthstation.co.uk/centre.html 

Arnside and Silverdale are just around the bay and have picturesque walks along the shore and though woodlands as well as interesting craft and art galleries. 

The Forest of Bowland is on our doorstep.  In 20 minutes you can be into this picturesque and diverse countryside.  There are plenty of walks and wildlife to see in this area, both inland and coastal habitats within short distances.

A little further afield are the Lakes.  In half an hour you can be at Kendal and heading towards Windermere and Ambleside. 

Kirby Lonsdale is well worth a morning, or afternoon visit.  Local walks will take you though lovely countryside, or you could stay in town and get tempted by the gift, art, craft and trinket shops and of course the tea rooms (when you need to recharge the batteries)
